From an autumn walk

There’s nothing like a walk on a gorgeous fall day. God’s creation simply amazes me. It’s too beautiful for words. It’s so calming and peaceful to be out with the breeze rustling in the trees, and all the warm golden hues, with the sun reflecting off it all. I love it!
Some of the things I [...]

Fall…and other musings…

I love this time of year! Spring is nice, and I love it, too, but Fall has a beauty all its own. It’s a very calming beauty, for me. The sun reflecting off all the golden hues on the leaves and plants gives a “warm-ness” to the air that you can almost feel! I love it!
I [...]

Through the years

I have been preparing pictures to go in a slide show for the graduation ceremony I will be participating in on May 8, and I thought I would share the pictures here. Enjoy! :)

City Union Mission

My mom, sister, I had a blessed time voluteering at City Union Mission today. I am so glad we were able to work there, and I hope to do it again soon.
We worked in the store, where people can come and pick out a certain number of free Christmas gifts for their family. Most everyone [...]

Lake Jesse

The temperature dropped enough while we were in Minnesota for my mom, grandmother, and I to go and slide around on the lake/pond (affectionately christened “Lake Jesse”) behind their home on Sunday evening. It was fun!

The settings on my camera were way off on these next pictures, but I thought they looked neat anyway!

This election did not turn out like many Christians had hoped. Even though I personally was not an avid McCain/Palin supporter and I never really expected them to win, I can empathize with the dissapointment and confusion many now face. It can be hard to believe that God is still good.  It can be hard to believe that He knows best. It can [...]

Whatever happens…

Just as a deer runs to water,
So does my heart to You, Father.

It is the Lord that I trust in, not in governments, presidents, or possesions, but in HIM. In His grace and mercy and goodness, and in the knowledge that “this world is not my home, I’m just a-passin’ through.”
Whatever happens tonight, it [...]

Baked apples with cinnamon and honey
Cool days, and crisp nights
Long walks with our hands shoved deep in our pockets for warmth, with the red-golden leaves swirling around our feet
Hot apple cider
Lugging out boxes of cozy sweaters yet again
Steaming cups of herbal tea
The anticipation – Christmas is coming!

What do you love about Fall?

Our internet connection was a little more stable this afternoon, and I was able to write this post!
Enjoy!
I have never written a “Year Review” post before, but I thought it would be fun to compile some memories!

I also want to express my thankfulness to my Lord for how He has blessed me, exceedingly, abundantly, beyond [...]

He made a way

The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
John 1:14

But God displayed His mercy
The greatest gift of love

When we could not reach Heaven
Heaven came to us!

He made a way in a manger
A [...]

He was born…

…to wear my thorns.

A lady sang this gorgeous song at a Christmas program we attended today. The lyrics are simply stunning! Please take the time to read them. They are beautiful!

There’s a Rose in Bethlehem, with a beauty quite divine,
Perfect in this world of sin, on this silent, holy night.

There’s a fragrance much like hope [...]
