The mystery of the Hypostatic Union
Posted in HeartThoughts, Holidays on December 23, 2008 | 1 Comment »
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning.
Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made.
In Him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in [...]
Will we be sleeping when He comes?

Oh little town of Bethlehem, looks like another silent night.
Above your deep and dreamless sleep, a giant star lights up the sky.
And while you’re lying in the dark, there shines an everlasting light;
For the King has left His throne, and is sleeping in a manger tonight.
While you were sleeping.
Oh Bethlehem, what you have missed while you [...]
A Manger, a Cross, and a Tomb
Posted in HeartThoughts, Holidays on December 21, 2008 | Comments Off
The way of the manger led to the Cross. Christ knew this before He came as a baby, and yet He came anyway.
But, the way of the manger also leads to the Tomb!
LIFE – he was born,
DEATH — on the cross, and
LIFE ANEW – resurrection!
This can be the same for each of us if we choose [...]

Light to shine in the darkest night,
Light to make all the wrong things right,
Light to show everyone the way,
Light to shine where a virgin lay,
Tonight.

An absolutely gorgeous song and one of my favorites! I first heard it when we went to a Gaither Vocal Band concert last year.

The 50th quarter, Hawaii, in the 50 United States Memorial Quarters is now in circulation. My collection is now complete!
It’s so hard to believe that it’s been nearly ten years since the first quarter, Delaware, was issued in 1999. I was only seven years old when I began collecting them, and I remember thinking what a looong time away [...]

A few weeks ago, my sister and I were standing in the kitchen giggling and laughing histerically about who knows what. (At that point, we found everything funny). My sister said, (this is translated from between giggles), “We’re really goofy right now.”
This observation produced another round of side-splitting, uncontrollable laughter.
Then she said, “You know we’re [...]

Lake Jesse

The temperature dropped enough while we were in Minnesota for my mom, grandmother, and I to go and slide around on the lake/pond (affectionately christened “Lake Jesse”) behind their home on Sunday evening. It was fun!
The settings on my camera were way off on these next pictures, but I thought they looked neat anyway!
