Just as a deer runs to water,
So does my heart to You, Father.

It is the Lord that I trust in, not in governments, presidents, or possesions, but in HIM. In His grace and mercy and goodness, and in the knowledge that “this world is not my home, I’m just a-passin’ through.”
Whatever happens tonight, it will not shake my faith in my Lord. It will not shake my faith in His ultimate control over the earth. It will not shake my belief in the eternal home that is waiting for me. My faith is not in a political party or candidate.
I’m standing on a sure foundation. My God is good. Period. If He chooses to give the United States leaders who support things that are clearly forbidden in Scripture, I trust Him. I trust that He is good. I trust that His choice of leaders good. I trust in His definition of good: that which will bring Him glory.

Thank you so much for posting this, Bryant. I have to admit that as I am sitting here watching the election…..seeing Barrack Obama take the lead and be a heartbeat away from becoming our president, I was worried. Nervous. Scared. Praying for a miracle. This post has encouraged me…..no matter what happens, GOD IS IN CONTROL!
Awesome way to think.
Bryant,
That was very encouraging! Last night after McCain gave his speech I was very sad. I went to the Bible and found comfort in His Word. The Lord is in control and no one can change that.
On the bright side, my Dad won the senate seat! God has blessed us greatly for we won in each of our 5 counties! Praise the Lord!
Keep in touch!
Lord bless,
Kourtney
I was monitoring the Presidental race online Tuesday night, and it wasn’t easy to see Obama take the lead to become our future President. However, having been praying for the election results for the past many months, by mid-day Tuesday the Lord had given me such a peace that I was able to accept it. Although it is not what many of us would have wished, the Lord does not make mistakes!!
What a treasure to have the Lord to cling to in troubling times!!
I’ve really been missing you lately, Bryant!! It’s just been too long!!
Much Love, Prayers and Hugs,
~Elizabeth
