Around 2000 B.C., ancient Phonicians offered their own babies and children as sacrifices on their god, Moloch’s, altar. Trumpets and flutes played loudly to drown out the cries of the babies as they burned in the blazing fire in the god’s lap.
And we think baby slaughter is a new thing. Oh no, it goes way back.
Today infants are offered up to gods called “Personal Peace” and “Affluence” on altars called “My Time“, “My Right to Have Things My Way“, “My Right to Experience Pleasure and Have Fun Without Commitment or Consequences.”
The reasons offered for the sacrifices include personal comfort, ease, and business. “My life is so full already, I just don’t have time to take care of a baby,” we hear. Or, “What will my parents say? It will make them so upset!”
True, a baby might cause many difficulties in one’s life. However, when did it ever become our decision to accept or reject a child, on any so-called basis or for any so-called reason?
God alone has life and death in His hands, and to make this decision ourselves is taking something from Him that it is not right to take.
There is indeed blood on our hands.

I don’t know how I missed this post…I’m glad I found it!
This is so sad….it is so heartbreaking to see the killing of babies so rampant….and as you say, it’s not a new thing. This has being going on since Bible times! Who are WE to say that we have the RIGHT to choose?? A baby is not a choice!
Thank you so much for sharing this!
