His way is right

As I open up arms of trust and surrender,
there is peace,
there is joy, and
there is freedom.

Father,
 Thy way was right.
Thy way is right.
Thy way will always be right.

My 7 x 7 post

A number of weeks ago, I was tagged to share six random facts about myself. I’ve done a post like this before (you can read it here), so I decided to write a 7 x 7 post: 7 categories with 7 facts about me in each.
Here goes!
7 things I would like to do before I [...]

Baked apples with cinnamon and honey
Cool days, and crisp nights
Long walks with our hands shoved deep in our pockets for warmth, with the red-golden leaves swirling around our feet
Hot apple cider
Lugging out boxes of cozy sweaters yet again
Steaming cups of herbal tea
The anticipation – Christmas is coming!

What do you love about Fall?

A simple prayer

Cleanse me from every sin, and set me free.  Fulfill Thy Word, and make me pure within.
Fill me with fire, where once I burned with shame. Grant me my desire to magnify Thy Name!
Lord, take my life, and make it wholly Thine.  Fill my poor heart with Thy great love divine.
Take all
my will,
my passion, [...]

Hope in what?

I know it won’t be easy…

No, it’s not easy. It’s not easy to trust Him. It’s not easy to have hope, especially when the circumstances seem so – hopeless.

I never said it would be.

No, He never did say it would be. He said it would be hard, which it is. Very, very hard.

But, I’ll choose to be [...]

Two years ago today…

…I wrote my very first post on this blog. One year ago today I wrote my first blog anniversary post. Everything I said in that post still stands, so go read it if you want! [grin]
I can hardly believe it’s been two years already! Time sure does fly.

All I ever need

But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.
2 Corinthians 12:9

Do I really believe that His grace is sufficient? That it is all I need, that nothing else really matters but HIM?
What does sufficient even mean? It means enough, all that is needed. When I [...]

Blood on our hands

Around 2000 B.C., ancient Phonicians offered their own babies and children as sacrifices on their god, Moloch’s, altar. Trumpets and flutes played loudly to drown out the cries of the babies as they burned in the blazing fire in the god’s lap.
And we think baby slaughter is a new thing. Oh no, it goes way [...]

…recent ponderings…

Do I trust God? Do I really, truly trust Him? Enough to let Him have control? To not provide my own solutions to my questions, but to let Him provide His?
Am I willing to surrender my life to Him daily, in the little, everyday things?
Do I really trust Him?

From this…

To this…

I finally found some material to make this blouse pattern I purchased last year. I had never worked with interfacing before, so this was a new challenging, but very fun project. The blouses turned out great (I made the brown style in the picture), and I had a lot of fun sewing them.

A thought

Jesus paid it all!
All to Him I owe.
Sin had left a crimson stain,
He washed it, white as snow!

Stepping in

“Tell the priests who carry the ark of the covenant: ‘When you reach the edge of the Jordan’s waters, go and stand in the river.’ ”
-Joshua 3:8

God often acts wen people are willing to make a total commitment to Him. Not waiting untill He makes the way absolutely, without-a-doubt clear, but stepping out in [...]

Considering the Cross

We can so easily allow self-pity to seep into our hearts.  When we feel lonely or crave someone to love and be loved by, it seems we have every reason in the world to complain, to sulk angrily because we’ve recieved a bum deal.
But do we really have a reason to complain when we consider [...]
