All was going well. We had just arrived at church, and after returning a glass platter that we had borrowed from church to the church kitchen, I was headed up the steps to the sanctuary. I could hear the service starting already, and I was thinking happy thoughts as I skipped up the steps.
And then it happened. I stepped on the hem of my skirt.
Then next thing I heard was that horrible, dreaded “Riiiip!” and the bottom two tiers of my skirt separated from the top three and left an awful, ugly 6 inch gash! “Oh no!” thought I! “What will I do now? I can’t walk around with an awful, ugly 6 inch gash in my skirt! It just won’t do!”
The first thing I thought of was to safety pin it shut, but then I realized I didn’t have any safety pins, or any un-safe pins for that matter. Next, I though of bobby pins, but the only ones I had were in my hair. That won’t do either. I wracked my brain for an alternate plan of action…hmmmm…I have to do something!
Then it hit me! Masking tape! Of course! Why didn’t I think of it before? I promtly raced back downstairs, masking taped the bottom tiers back to the top, and marched back up the steps. Ah. All’s well again. And I wasn’t even late for the service! :)

Wow, I’m glad you had something there to fix your skirt! That would have been awkward to walk around with a big hole in it!
That’s hysterical Bryant!! What a brilliant fix!!

Hooray for masking tape!! :-D
Sorry! I accidently did that last comment under my sister, Nikki’s username. That was from me! :)
I did that once with a tiered skirt, but on the car when we were leaving. No fun!
Masking tape is a creative answer. I never would have thought of that!
Hi, I’m Paris! Found you through Zoe.
That’s funny! One of my teachers used staples to fix everything, even when she ripped the bottom of her shirt :P
That is hilarious! I have ripped one of my skirts before too, but I was just at the neighbors house so I was able to run home and do a really sloppy patching up on it with a needle and thread.
That’s funny! =) But, good thinking! Tape can fix (at least temporarily) almost anything!
