“Ah-ha – Rexford just went by…” :-)
Yes! :)
My mom sang that song for us! And as we were walking around town, I asked her where all the people were (it looked deserted) and she said “They’re inside, calling one another up and asking each other who those ladies are that are walking around town.” Then she sang the part about that there’s not much going on in Rexford, but what does go on, everyone finds out about it! :)
I love the last picture— it just looks SOO Kansas!! :)
I really enjoyed this post.Even though I’m from Queensland, Australia, I could really relate to it.
One of the most rewarding things I ever did (With my now husband when we were engaged), was to take a day trip to visit the little town 3hrs away where my Mum and Grandmother grew up.We took photos of everything they had ever talked about, and they brought much joy to my now-departed Grandmother, who was in a nursing home at the time.

My daughter told me about your blog. The photos brought back many memories. I taught music in Rexford from 1950 to 1962. My late wife, Dolores Reilley, grew up in Rexford. Maybe I would recognize some names.
