The Lord provided through my parents’ and my own savings, and through the generosity and kindness of relatives for me to purchase a brand new pedal harp. I had been praying every day for over a year for the Lord’s will in this, and for Him to provide if it was His will for me to have a pedal harp. I had given up the hope of purchasing one, after being told by my parents that we just couldn’t afford it. I placed the need squarely in the Father’s hands.
“Lord, we can’t do it. If it is Your will for me to continue harp lessons, I need this harp. You are going to have to do it all. I’m giving it up! I won’t even look at harp websites anymore! It’s Yours, Father.”
And He did provide! He answered “Yes!” to my prayers!

For any harpists, harpist-wanna-be’s, or anyone else who keeps track of this kind of stuff, “she” is a Lyon and Healy 85 Grand Petite pedal harp, 44 strings, 69 inches tall, and weighs 70 pounds.

This picture ^^ is significant for a harpist! :)

The word Shiloh is of Hebrew origin and the meaning of the word is ‘His gift’. But there are some scholars who say that the word meant ‘he who was sent’. In Bible the word is used as a prophetic name for the Messiah…
God is good!
He would still be good, even if He had chosen to answer “No” to my prayers for a pedal harp.

Well that’s exciting! I don’t play harp but I’ve always thought it sounded really pretty!
Oh, I am so very, very happy for you! What an immense blessing – I could just imagine how full your heart is! Wish you all the best!
I really like the new harp. =)
Wow- Bryant– why didn’t you tell me?!?!?! That is such exciting news!!!
God is SO good!!! I can’t wait to come hear you play ‘Shiloh’ :) — I know you’ll sound terrific!! What a exciting answer to prayer!!
Love you Lots!
~Elizabeth
How exciting!! :) The new harp is very nice! :)
That is a beautiful harp! Looks rather big actually!
I’ve always wanted to learn this instrument. Maybe I will one day :-)
congrats Bryant! how exciting!
btw, I love the music you have playing as your background music. simply beautiful.
Wow!!! That is amazing! What a beautiful instrument. Harp was always my first choice in instruments!
God bless,
Sheila
Bryant, I am so happy to finally see your new harp. I can hardly wait to hear you play. Question, how are you going to fit the harp in the car when you come to MN? On another note, Uncle John and I went to Alisha’s violin concert yesterday at McPhail Center for Music, like you, she is very gifted musically….you would not have known that she has only been playing for a year and a half. God has blessed both of you beyond measure. Love, Aunt Sandra
That’s great! Thanks for sharing! Harp playing always looks so graceful!
Hello Bryant,
Your harp is beautiful! I went to the INCH conference here in Michigan and heard Sarah and Grace Mally play. It was beautiful. God has certainly blessed you with “Shiloh”. I like your blog — I am going to link to you if you don’t mind; perhaps you’d like to link to me?
God Bless,
Phylicia
Of course! I’d be happy to! :)
She’s a beauty! I can’t wait to hear her sing!
Hey Bryant! What a joy is this great blessing from the Lord! Please thank Micah Noel for taking these wonderful pictures. Thank you for your hard work to practice and develop the gifts the Lord has given you.
Daddy
I am so excited for you! I know exactly how you feel. I went through the same thing with my cello.
I love the pictures too! Shiloh is beautiful!
BRYANT!!!! I am soooo excited for you! (The L&H 85 petite grand is my absolutely favorite model, too — excellent choice! :) )
Thanks for sharing your exciting news — I am definitely rejoicing with you!
Oh, Bryant, you must be thrilled!Congratulations! The Lord will provide!
“She” is beautiful!! I’m so glad for you Bryant! :D
I name my instruments too. :)
Congratulations! :) I name my instruments as well….they all seem like a miracle. I prayed for a flute for so long but my parents told me that they didn’t want me to have to use a cheap one but they couldn’t afford an expensive one….then one day my sister-in-law called up and the first thing she said was “Do you want my flute? I don’t really play it anymore.” :) God is good!
Bryant,
I found you lovely blog while looking for Bethany Wissmann! I think your harp is beautiful!!!! My little sister has just started harp! May the Lord bless you!
a sister in Christ…..
Wow! What a wonderful answer to prayer!
I love how the Lord cares about such things in our life!
It’s a beautiful harp! I love how you chose to name it by the meaning of the name. Such a perfect name for it!
I hope you are doing well. Can I presume that you’ve been busy as well, maybe?
I noticed a huge gap in the dates between these 3 posts! I, too, haven’t had time to post ;)
Well, I trust you’re enjoying your new harp! Have a great weekend!
~Alexandra
New harp eh!? Cool!
Have fun with it (like you wouldn’t)
That is so neat! I can play harp some although I have never had lessons. I have always wanted one, but piano is my area, so I figure that I should stick with that.
The photos are wonderful, and you look so very happy! I’m happy for you!
