I lift up my eyes to the hills— where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.
-Psalm 121:1-2We wait in hope for the Lord; He is our help and our shield.
-Psalm 33:20 Each time the word help is used in these passages, the Hebrew word is ezer kenegdo. The various attempts we have in English are helper, companion, help-meet, or sustainer beside him. In nearly every instance that this phrase (ezer kenegdo) is used, the person being described is God Himself,
when you need Him to come through for you.

When you need Him…
desperately.
Most of the contexts are life and death,
when God is your only hope.
If He is not there beside you…you are hopeless.
You see, the life God calls us to is not a safe life. God calls us to a life involving frequent risks and many dangers. Why else would we need Him to be our ezer? You don’t need a lifesaver if your mission is to be a couch potato.
You need an ezer when your life is in constant danger.
He is our ezer, our lifesaver.
I am so thankful, so overjoyed, so utterly in rapture over such a Protector, such a Provider…
such an ezer kenegdo.

May the Lord answer you when you are in distress;
May the Name of the God of Jacob protect you.
May He send you help…
-Psalm 20:1-2

That is one of my favorite verses…I lift up my eyes to the hills— where does my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

My favorite Bible verse is: The Lord answer you in time of distress; the name of the God of Jacob defend you!
amen! Wow, that’s beautiful!!!
I love this.
Genesis 2:18 It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him. Helper comparable is ezer kenegdo! That should make women feel better about themselves! God is so good!
More proof that God is God, God is good and His creation is good! Know you are blessed!
