.::{and a loooong morning }::…..
Grace, our Yorkshire Terrier, had puppies last night/this morning, (whichever way you want to look at it!)
Immediately after arriving home from church last evening, I was just going about my various “arriving home” tasks — bringing stuff in from the car, etc. — when my sister, with a flushed face, came running outside and said,
Bryant! Bryant? Come quick! We need you!
I then found out that the first puppy had been born while we were at church, and my sister was all by herself. She had been gone last time our dog had puppies, and although she had read books on what to do, you can imagine that she was very nervous!
But she did fine, and the puppy was fine, and soon the first little guy was joined by a second little guy, and the general, unspoken thought was,
Grace had better have a least one girl!
We are kind of “girl-biased” when it comes to puppies! [grin]
And so, not long after that, these two little guys were joined by their little sister! This result produced general festivity and happiness felt by all.
Yay! Party hats and streamers! It’s a girl!
And then, not long after that, these two little guys and one little girl were joined by another even “little-er” (I know that’s not a word) girl!
The new family is doing great, and we’re doing pretty well, despite getting hardly any sleep last night.
And the two little girls and two little guys were promtly christened –
Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy!

In the book it said that the dog will be in labor for a while before the puppies come, but it sure didn’t happen that way for me! Before I knew it, I saw two little paws and a tail. I had to help Grace some, and then I had puppy.
Grace’s heart was beating really fast, and so was mine. I’m so glad that both she and the puppies are okay, because it was a hard night. I think I went to bed about 4:00. :)
How neat… puppies! The names you gave them are cute too!! :)
Blessings,
Allison
Welcome star-shine! The earth says hello! (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory!)
A warme welcome to Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy! Give my congratulations to Grace! (I am assuming that is the mother’s name!)
Now everyone go and get some sleep!
Oh boy!….I mean Oh-girl!! Oh-puppies!!!! How exciting!
So, is Micah still considering a career in midwifery, or did this heart-racing experience put an end to that?
When do we get to see pictures??
LOVE the names!!!
Hopefully Grace will allow me to take some pictures in the next few days. :) She is very protective, and sometimes when one of us comes in, she will be so worried that we’re going to hurt them, she’ll sit on them and they’ll squeak! :)
How cute!! Congratulations!!! What a great idea on names! May Gracie and her “Pevensies” have many happy days. Always remember, once a king or queen in the Sarensen household, always a king or queen ;)
I can’t wait to see puppies. I love the names you chose too. =)
I remember when one of my last cats had kittens.
I can’t wait to see pictures, I meant!
How fun! Our cats have had kittens quite a few times. Usually, however, she goes off and hides (they’re outside cats) and we have to go hunt for the kittens! =)

YAY!!!!
You didn’t have to do a C- section! :)
I LOVE the names! That’s so cool!
Can’t wait to see the pictures!
Sally, our dog, is fixed, so we’ve never experienced this kind of thing! :D
How fun – can’t wait to see pictures!!!
I am so happy to that your family has expanded to include two new brothers and two new sisters. When do we get to see pics. Do you plan on keeping a little girl for yourselves? Grace must be exhausted!!!!
Awwww!!!! Can you post us some pics? Thanks!
We raise Shih-tzu dogs. :) I know exactly what you are talking about staying up all night with the mother dog while she has puppies, I’ve done the same thing quite a few times! I’m glad to hear that everything went alright! Having puppies around is always so much fun, even if they are a lot of work. :)
these are so precious..I don’t think you would ever know but a YORKIE has always been my DREAM dog…and here I am still ….in my 50’s…..oh those pups are cute…and she looks like a great mama…just tooo sweet…
