I never guessed that I could find such a great deal at a thrift store! We headed out to do errands on Saturday a few weeks ago. Several members of our family wanted to stop at Goodwill. Several other members (including myself) did not want to stop.
I had just been saying to my mom the day before how nice it would be to have my own sewing machine, and guess what I found?!
A Singer sewing machine! It is in great condition, hardly used, and for $25, who can go wrong? It runs great, and I am very happy with it!
And the moral of the story is:
Never underestimate the deals at thrift stores!

OH!!! Bryant, that is the best deal I’ve ever heard of!!! You just never know what you’ll find at a thrift store!! :)
I’m glad you are home, and back to posting!!
Love You!
Elizabeth
P.S. I hope to see pictures of all the wonderful things you make with your new sewing machine!! And if you ever see another deal like that, get it for me!!
Bryant,
I can’t believe how long it’s been since the last time I checked on your blog.
I loved catching up and I had so much fun reading this post you so sounded like myself about not wanting to go to the thrift store but then happy you went.
I am glad you went in and found your great buy!

Don’t you just LOVE a great bargain?? The sewing machine looks great! Those older models work SO well too – “they just don’t make ‘em like they used to!” (I’ve heard many an “old-time” quote that line!)
AMEN!!! :) And not wanting to go to Goodwill? That’s cRaZy!!!
What a great deal!! Thats so neat!
I got my hopechest for only $20 at a thrift shop! And it’s a “Lane” brand, which are very expensive. Mine is in great conditon too. I was very very excited to say the least! I LOVE thift shops!! :)
What a great deal!! Is it an old one, or a new one? Did you read about my sewing machine on my blog? Mom got it at a yard sale, and it runs great too!
It was made in 1992, but you can tell that it hasn’t been used very much. It looks brand new! My mom bought hers used in about ‘95 or so, and she paid over $400 for it.
Congrats, Bryant! I’m so happy for you! Now we’ll be waiting for posts of all the wonderful things you turn out! :)
And loved your pictures of your trip to Seattle — it looks like you had a marvelous time.
How nice that you found a sewing machine at that price!
I hope it works well for you. Happy sewing!
