On the way to the grocery store last evening, I looked out over the fields on either side of the road. With the sun setting behind them, the scene was beautiful.
“Wow, I can see a long ways in every direcition,” I mused thoughtfully to myself. I hummed a little tune as I sat back and enjoyed the scenery.
But wait… something just wasn’t right. Yes, something was very, very wrong with this picture.
“I don’t remember there being a lake right there. That is supposed to be a field!”
As we drove over a bridge, I looked to the left and saw the sign for Stranger Creek (an odd name, I know).
But wait, Stranger Creek had turned into Stranger Lake.
“It’s flooded! The fields, the creek, everything’s flooded!”, I finally concluded.
I snapped a few pictures, and here are two of the results.

I love how pretty the trees looked sillouhetted against the sunset in the background.

Oh….your flood pictures are SO much better then mine!! I do love the first one, the sky is such a pretty color right then!!
Wow!
That is a beautiful picture!!!! Where did all the water come from!? It takes an awful lot of water to turn a creek into a lake like that! We could sure use some of that water down here in FL! We haven’t had rain in quite a while and so our lakes are getting lower and lower everyday!
It rained almost constantly last week, and often it was very, very hard. Tuesday was the first sunny day in a while! There is a song, and I don’t remember the group or the title, but it has a line “Yes, I’m prayin’ for sunny days to come along”. That is just how I was feeling last week after rain, rain, and more rain. :-)
Ah yes, I’ve seen my share of flooding in the last wee, but nothing quite like this. Those are gorgeous pictures! I think I like the last one the best. The fence cutting through the “lake” cracks me up… Is it to keep the fish in??? LOL
