“Femininity has a strange effect on the outside world. To our lost culture, it is foreign, but it is fascinating. It inspires awe and respect. It can even inspire today’s feminized men to be manly, protective and chivalrous. Never underestimate the power of godly femininity.”

It is so interesting to see how differently women are treated when they dress and act femininely. I love it when I am at our local shopping mall and am wearing a long, flowing skirt, and guys look at me, look down at my skirt, then back up at me and smile. I smile back, and thank the Lord that my parents have taught me how to dress purely, happily, femininely.

Love the quote…and I, too have had similiar experiences. It seems that as we dress as ladies, we get treated like ladies! (Imagine that! smile)
That is really cool, Bryant. It is interesting…I’ve gotten strange looks from dressing modestly :)
Its all part of rejoicing when persecuted, I guess! :)
Of course, you didn’t say you’ve gotten strange looks. But I daresay you have before, am I right? :)
Yes, I have gotten some odd looks before. But, I don’t really think of it as persecution, but a wonderful opportunity the Lord gives me to share about how I’ve been convicted by Him, and how I seek to honor Him, my parents, and my brothers in Christ by dressing purely and chastely!
I guess it would be quite a witness if, when given an odd look, you smile back.
I agree! There’s something about dressing with femininity that changes your whole outlook. I’m glad spring is here – I get to wear my light, long, flowery and ruffly dresses again. You’re right – people do notice.
Amen, Bryant. We see very little godly femininity. We should steep our daughters in it!

That was a wonderful post!!!! I, personally, don’t wear skirts or dresses everyday, but it is so much fun to wear them! :) One time this year, I decided to wear a dress and put a nice jacket over it (a suede jacket that was majorly on sale!!! :)) I was walking to my car to put my suitcase in there (I was going home for the weekend). And some guys asked me if I wanted to be a teacher because of the way I was dressed. :D It was so funny! But in a way not, because most girls do not dress up any more. It is quite shocking to me to know that some girls do not even own a dress or a skirt! :D Okay I am done rambling now… :)
I agree that being able to dress femininely is a gift from God. I see it as a good witness too. I love it when I am at the store (or sadly even at church) and the other girls are dressed sloppily or immodestly. I feel like I am really being a shining light as I am being a godly example to them. God has truly given us ladies a special gift!
Yep, I totally agree! Guys/men treats us differently when we dress modestly. :D
You know, I didn’t know your age until I read some comments back. You seems much older that 15 going to sixteen. :D
Beautiful post! God has called us to be different, and that is why the stares and smiles can be blessings. (I used to consider them persecution) I don’t wear skirts all the time, but I’m thankful to God for bringing me to a point of rejoicing in my feminity to actually enjoy and feel comfortable in a skirt. There is rarely an occasion I can find a really good excuse for not wearing a skirt, though theres definite times I feel more comfortable in pants. You just have to be creative and willing to wear a skirt! I love the flower pics. Did you take them?
I do not wear skrts too often either. They make my geet look really really big. I guess that because I wear a size as big as a shoe box. I do like skrts and am waiting for one to match Micheas and Byeants. I thunk that one may be in the worxs for ours trips to Seattle this sumner. Sanra and I thnk it would be fun if we could all match.
All funny aside, John and I are very proud of you Bryant. Your desire to embrace modesty is something lost in our cultral today. You always look beautiful when we see. We are looking forward to the train trip to Seattle.
Love, Uncle John and Aunt Sandra
You did so well at expressing your thoughts, Bryant. I appreciate this post a lot.
By the way, I think I’ve seen those flowers before. :)
You know when I dress in a way that pleases God, I alwaysb feel good about the way I am dressing. I do wear some pants, but most of the time I wear modest skirts. Thanks.
Lauren
Bryant,
To me, as a man, it is greatly conforting reading your words. In fact, as Bethany states, the way you look (not only how you dress, but how you act) is the very first invitation to treat you as what you appear to be, in this case as a pure and happy lady.
Unfortunately our societies have lost the sense of feminity and chivalry, leading it to non-sense violence.
Thank you very much for your post. God bless you.

Beautiful quote! It’s so true. Godly, Biblical femininity can be so powerful. There is an overwhelming feeling of duty to be given this responsibility to present in in a God glorifying way. God bless!
