What is real?
November 28, 2006 by ~Bryant
Temporary things are all around us. They are everywhere. We can’t avoid them.
What should we do then? Love them? Live for them? After all, they are everywhere!
No, we must do the very hardest thing of all. Live among them, yet seek that which is truly real.
Temporal things are not really what is real.
————————————————————————————————
Few people understand what life is truly about. In seeking what is temporary, they lose what is eternal. In searching for only what they can see, they miss out on the unseen–and the unseen is the most real of all.
————————————————————————————————

So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
~2 Corinthians 4:18

I have a question for you. Which Bible do you believe is the word of God?
If by “which Bible” you mean “what version”, then I would say that I do not necesarily believe there is one “right” version of the Bible. I frequently, when studying a passage, look at different versions, so I can get wisdom from the many different ways passages are translated. I personally use NIV mostly, but I do not think this or any other version is the “authorized” version. Thanks for asking! :-)
Bryant,
What a wonderful post. Food for thought… Thank you!
I believe KJV is the best version. Dr. Kent Hovind (an expert on evolution, creation, and dinosaurs. I believe he is also a devoted Christian) gave many reasons why NIV and the others versions had problems. I can’t remember what they were though.
Miss you two gals!
God bless,
Kourtney
Some argue that the NIV is on a highschool reading level, while the KJV is much easier. I personally believe that the KJV is the INFALLIBLE ONLY TRUE WORD OF GOD. All others fall short.
Bryant, I can imagine how frustrated you may have felt not knowing with whom you were conversing with. I think that you handled each posting with grace and dignity. It will not be the last time that someone will question what you belive in or how or why you belive. I admire your strength and dedication to the Lord. I am proud that you are my neice and you always graciously go along with my joking.
Love, Aunt Sandra
Thank you very much! Your joking is the highlight of your visit! :-)
